How to Grant Collaborator Access to Your Shopify Store

What is Collaborator Access?

Collaborator access is Shopify's secure way to grant a trusted Shopify Partner access to your store. This allows me to work on your store without needing your login credentials. You remain in full control and can revoke access at any time.

Key benefits:
- Your password stays private
- All actions are logged and traceable
- You control exactly what permissions are granted
- Access can be removed instantly whenever you choose

---

Instructions

To grant me collaborator access, you will first need to share two pieces of information with me:

1. Your store URL (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
2. Your collaborator request code

Once I receive these details and submit my request, you can then approve my access. Please follow the steps below.

---

 Step 1: Open Settings

Log into your Shopify admin and click **Settings** in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

---

Step 2: Navigate to Users and Permissions

In the Settings menu, click Users and permissions.

---

Step 3: Copy and Send Your Store URL and Collaborator Request Code

Scroll down to the Collaborators section. You will need to copy and send me two pieces of information:

- 3a. Your store URL — This is displayed at the top of the section (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
- 3b. Collaborator request code — This is the code displayed below the URL

*If you do not see that option - look for security and click on that.

Click Copy next to each field and send both to me at me@zayedtalib.com

---

Step 4: Find the Pending Request

Once I receive your store URL and collaborator request code and submit my request, return to Settings → Users and permissions. In the Collaborators section, you will see a pending request from me@zayedtalib.com with a yellow "Pending" badge. Click Respond to request.

---

Step 5: Select All Permissions

In the request modal, click **Select all permissions** to grant full access. This ensures I can complete all work on your store without any access limitations.

---

Step 6: Approve the Request

Click the green Approve button to confirm and grant access.

---

Done!

Once approved, I will receive a notification and can begin working on your store immediately. You will see me listed as an active collaborator in your Users and permissions settings.

Troubleshooting

I can't find my store URL or collaborator request code
- Both are located in **Settings → Users and permissions**, under the Collaborators section.
- Your store URL is your myshopify.com address (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com). You can also find this in your browser's address bar when logged into your Shopify admin.
- If you don't see a collaborator request code, ensure you are logged in as the store owner or a user with permission to manage collaborators.

I don't see a pending request from me@zayedtalib.com
- I may not have submitted the request yet. Please ensure you have sent me both your store URL and collaborator request code first.
- Check your email inbox (including spam) for a notification from Shopify about the collaborator request.
- Ensure you are logged into the correct Shopify store.

I can't find Settings
- Settings is always located at the very bottom of the left sidebar in your Shopify admin.
- If you're on mobile, tap the menu icon (☰) first to reveal the sidebar.

I don't see Users and permissions
- This option may be restricted if you're not the store owner. Only the store owner or users with appropriate permissions can manage collaborator access.

I accidentally declined the request
- No problem. Please let me know and I will send a new collaborator request.
