( 02 / Fees )

The fees on top of the plan.

Every sale carries a card fee, and a payment provider other than Shopify Payments adds a Shopify transaction fee.

With Shopify Payments, online card payments cost between 2.9% and 3.2% plus S$0.50 depending on your plan, and in-person payments between 2.6% and 3% plus S$0.50.

With another payment provider, Shopify adds a transaction fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus, on top of that provider's own charges.

( 03 / The rest )

What else to budget for.

The plan is rarely the biggest cost; set-up and the apps you add usually are.

Most stores add a few paid apps (reviews, subscriptions, shipping, accounting connections), and some use a paid theme. If you have a shop, add POS Pro for each location and the hardware you need. Then there's the build and the help to run it: done yourself, by an agency, or by a senior specialist on a retainer.

Which plan fits is usually decided by staff accounts, card fees at your sales volume, and whether you sell in person.
